Storytelling is a tradition as old as mankind itself. At all times, events, anecdotes and episodes have been told and today storytelling can be based on a rich oral tradition.

Listening and understanding competences were presupposed and trained at the same time. For the process of learning a foreign language, listening is the competence acquired before speaking, reading and writing and is therefore the first objective of English lessons.
Storyland1 + 2 besides listening competence also initiates reading and writing. Additionally the stories invite children to approach other cultures and life styles.

The stories of the 2 books deal with essential topics of the Early English curriculum as numbers, colours, family, animals, days of the week, school things, seasons, and more.

What makes storytelling attractive and effective for English lessons?
