My Body Train, Game as Warming Up Activity in English Classroom for Younglearners

My Body Train
My body train is a game to be used as warming up activity in English classroom for young learners.

Age range:
• Age 4-6

Type:
• Warming up game

Objectives:
• To develop children’s gross motor skill
• To review “Parts of the body” vocabularies that have been learned earlier
• To develop children’s musical ability

Steps:
• To encourage the children, at the beginning of the meeting you can ask them to play train.
• Sing this song with “The Wheels on the bus” tone:

The wheels on the train go round and round
Round and round round and round 2x
All through the town

• First, choose one child to join the line. Point at his part of the body and ask “What’s this?” if he can answer the question, he can be with you on the train, but if cannot he should stay to take another turn.
• When there are enough children on the train line, you can ask the other children to ask “What is this?” when you stop to take another child into the train line.
• Do it again and again until all children are on board. Afterwards, you and the children can go around the class singing the song.
