Mirror Mirror: Main Activity in English Classroom for Young Learners

Mirror mirror
This games may be used as main activity in English classroom for young learners. It is suitable for introducing kinds of feeling-related personal expressions.

Age group:
Age 3-5

Objectives:
To introduce kind of expressions
To develop children’s intrapersonal and interpersonal ability

Material:
Big mirror

Steps:
  1. If it is possible, prepare a big mirror, so that some children can see their expressions altogether and compare. 
  2. Then, ask them to make certain expressions (based on the vocabularies that are being learned). 
Examples:
Make a happy face!
Make a sad face!
Make a very happy face!
Make a shy face!


You should show them the expression while giving the instruction. After being rehearsed several times, only give them instruction without action.
