Materials:
• Children’s and teacher’s photo

Steps:
  • · Ask the children to clap hands while reciting this rhyme: 
HAPPY!
H-A- P- P- Y….3x (clap your hand once for every word)
Happy happy happy YES!
  • · It can also be used transition game.

Five sit, please! Closing game in English Classroom for Young Learners

Five sit, please!
This game is to be used as a closing activity in English classroom.

Age group
• Age 4-6

Type:
• Closing game

Objective:
• To develop children’s ability to count

Steps:
• Ask the children to stand up in a circle and ask them to count one to five (one, two, three, four, five)
• The one that mentions number five should sit down in the circle.
• Count again until all of the children sit.

Find me! Games for Warming Up or Closing Time in English Class for Young Learners

Find me!
Find me! is a game to be used in English classroom as a warming up or closing activity.

Age group:
• Age 3-5

Type:
• Warming up or closing time game

Objectives:
• To review the vocabularies that have been learned
• To develop children’s visual-spatial ability

Materials:
• Flashcards (from any themes of learning)

Steps:
• Ask the children to close their eyes.
• Hide the flashcards.
• Count up to ten before the children can open their eyes.
• Afterwards, ask the children to find the flashcards. Cheer up the class when they find the flashcards.
• Limit the time of finding to make the game more hilarious. For instance you can limit the time up to ten counts.
• Then, ask the children to gather again and mention the words from the flashcards they found.
• You can vary this game such as asking the child who found the most flashcards and are able to mention the words to lead the next game.
